Areas We Supply Across the Cape Peninsula

From Paarden Eiland to Paarl, PACK-PRO delivers bulk packaging orders to businesses throughout the Cape Peninsula’s major industrial nodes — these make up the bulk of our business, though our reach isn’t limited to this list. Here’s a little about some of the areas we serve most often.

Killarney Gardens

Developed in the early 1990s as a landscaped business park between the N1 and N7, Killarney Gardens grew from a small industrial pocket into one of Cape Town’s leading industrial parks — every property here is required to maintain a green strip, a rare design philosophy for an industrial area. Today it’s a hub for manufacturing, warehousing and distribution.

Montague Gardens

Once farmland on the outskirts of the city, Montague Gardens was transformed into one of Cape Town’s busiest industrial and logistics hubs over the second half of the 20th century. Its position between the N1 and N7 makes it one of the most accessible distribution points on the Cape Peninsula.

Epping 1 & Epping 2

First developed in the late 1940s, Epping’s industrial growth accelerated after the Athlone Power Station and the Epping Market opened in the early 1960s. It’s now the largest industrial suburb in greater Cape Town, and one of PACK-PRO’s most active delivery zones.

Airport Industria

Established in the late 1970s to serve Cape Town International Airport’s freight and logistics needs, Airport Industria is split into two zones either side of the airport approach road. It remains one of the city’s most strategically located logistics nodes for time-sensitive bulk deliveries.

Paarden Eiland

“Island of Horses” in Dutch, this reclaimed stretch of land dates back to 18th-century farms where horses, cattle and sheep grazed. Early industry here began with lime kilns fired by shipwreck timber, before the area was formally proclaimed industrial in 1935 — it’s been a working industrial suburb ever since.

Atlantis Industrial

Developed from 1973 as a planned “model industrial node” on what was then open dunes 45km north of Cape Town, Atlantis attracted more than 100 relocating companies and close to 13,000 jobs by the late 1980s through land and tax incentives. It remains an important manufacturing base on the West Coast.

Athlone Industrial

Once known as West London, the area was renamed Athlone in honour of the Earl of Athlone, Governor-General of the Union of South Africa from 1924 to 1930. It has since grown into a key industrial and manufacturing district on the Cape Flats.

Beaconvale Industrial

Part of the broader Parow industrial corridor that developed through the 20th century, Beaconvale today hosts businesses across manufacturing, engineering, food production, automotive and more — a dense, diverse industrial base.

Brackenfell Industrial

Named in 1901 by Scottish immigrant George Henry Walton, whose new farm reminded him of the ferns (“bracken”) and hills (“fell”) of home, Brackenfell grew from a granite quarry served by a 1904 railway siding into an established suburb by 1913.

Diep River Industrial

Once known as Halfway House, an 1850s coaching stop on the Cape Town–Simon’s Town road famous for Rathfelder’s Inn, the area was renamed Diep River in 1858 after the river running through it, and grew rapidly once the railway arrived in 1882.

Hout Bay Industrial

Named “Houtbaaitjen” (Wood Bay) by Jan van Riebeeck in 1652 after the yellowwood forests that once supplied timber for the Castle of Good Hope, Hout Bay’s industrial area today serves the valley’s fishing, manufacturing and small-business economy.

Kuils River Industrial

First a Dutch East India Company outpost known as “de Kuijlen” in the 1680s, Kuils River took its name from the river running through it. It operated as its own municipality from 1950 until joining the City of Cape Town in 2000.

Maitland Industrial

Named after Sir Peregrine Maitland, Governor of the Cape from 1844 to 1847, Maitland was its own municipality from 1902 until it joined Cape Town in 1913, and remains one of the city’s older, well-established industrial nodes.

Muizenberg Industrial

Named after Sergeant Wynand Muys, who commanded a Dutch military post here in the 1740s, Muizenberg was the site of a pivotal 1795 battle that marked the first British occupation of the Cape — long before it became home to a working industrial and business precinct.

Paarl Industrial

South Africa’s third-oldest town, founded in 1687 and named after the “pearl”-like sheen explorer Abraham Gabbema saw on its granite mountain in 1657, Paarl is also the birthplace of the Afrikaans language and today anchors a significant industrial and agricultural economy in the Cape Winelands.

Parow Industrial

Named after Captain Johann Heinrich Ferdinand Parow, a Prussian sea captain shipwrecked at the Cape in 1865 who later bought and developed land here, Parow was proclaimed a village in 1901 and has grown into one of the Cape’s busiest commercial and industrial corridors.

Salt River Industrial

A translation of the Dutch “Soutrivier,” Salt River became one of Cape Town’s great industrial boomtowns after the railway arrived in 1862, developing alongside Woodstock as the city’s textile and clothing manufacturing centre.

Stikland Industrial

Part of greater Bellville, which was itself renamed in 1861 after Surveyor-General Charles Bell, Stikland developed as Bellville grew from a 19th-century wagon halt into one of the Cape’s major commercial and industrial centres.

Strand Industrial

Afrikaans for “beach,” the Strand began life in 1714 as a fishing and holiday settlement for Stellenbosch families, known at various times as Mosterd’s Bay and Somerset Strand before settling on its current name in 1937.

Woodstock Industrial

Originally the village of Papendorp, named after 18th-century settler Pieter van Papendorp, the area merged with neighbouring Salt River in 1881 to form Woodstock — reputedly named by a group of fishermen after their favourite hotel.
